Court Hearing Courses

Court Hearing Courses

This driving course is aimed at educating drivers who are at risk of facing a driving ban, or being potentially convicted for driving at excessive speed or other driving offences.

Drivers are far more likely to accept and conform to recommended limit and other motoring laws if they understand the reasoning behind them.

If you are a solicitor and you work within a Motoring Offences Team of lawyers, you may suggest that your client attends one of our speed recognition courses, or driver behaviour courses, prior to their court appearance. Our courses are designed specifically to match the needs of the client, generally for those who may receive a driving ban subject to the ‘totting up’ procedure.

Not Just for Speeding Offences

BAODT offer bespoke Driver Road Risk and Behaviour Training Courses for those who have accumulated points on their driving licence. This can be applied to various motoring offences that bring about a court appearance, potential prosecution and even a potential driving ban (disqualification).

You may be an employer with a team of employees who are driving for work, and through the nature of their work are at risk of ‘totting up’ penalty points. You may be self employed, or simply someone who cannot afford to risk losing your driving licence. You may be a Motoring offences Lawyer who has a client who can benefit from this private one to one course. Whatever the case, call Bucks and Oxon Driver Training now.

‘Hi Diane. Just came from court. 6 points, no doubt the course was a big factor in the decision not to ban. Many thanks.

‘Yippee! The appeal was successful…. Your reports were most helpful, especially the second as it showed improvement and enhanced commitment. Thank you for your assistance, I learned a lot which will hopefully stick’.

Presentation

The first part of the course involves an interactive presentation that covers driver risk, hazard perception and recognition, knowledge perception and clarification of rules.

It is with the greatest thanks that I didn‘t receive a ban. As you know I was stopped on the motorway travelling at 108mph. When the police caught up with me, after 2 miles, I was still travelling at 100mph. Standing in court and listening to this statement getting read out in front of you reality begins to hit home. You expect the worst. When my lawyer presented your certificate of completion it was very clear the weight that it held. A decided change of body language from the JP concerned, all for the better. I received 6 points on my licence and a £500 fine, incredible considering the speed I was doing. I can‘t thank you enough, due to your own skill, advice and expertise this has helped me greatly not only for the court case but greater knowledge as a driver.

On-road Driver Training

The second part of the course takes place behind the wheel, either in your own vehicle or we can provide one at additional cost. It includes an assessment drive to identify the drivers’ strengths and weaknesses. A *demonstration drive will then take place from your trainer together with commentary, talking through the advantages and benefits of adopting a new approach.

This session will also help identify the varying speed limits and key risk areas that the driver encounters on a daily basis. Practical, useful advice will be offered throughout the course.
*Demonstration drive subject to appropriate insurance cover.

Well at last, after 6 months of waiting, I can provide you with some feedback!! I appeared in court last Friday (7th) in Carlisle for all of 10 minutes after waiting for an hour in a grimy waiting room. Result; £465.00 fine and 6 points!!!! No ban due to the fact that I had been on your driving course! Your report and other letters from my employer did the trick and I can count myself very lucky. So, a BIG thanks for helping me, were it not for the course I would now be at home twiddling my thumbs looking for a job. Thank you again. Standing in court and listening to this statement getting read out in front of you reality begins to hit home. You expect the worst. When my lawyer presented your certificate of completion it was very clear the weight that it held. A decided change of body language from the JP concerned, all for the better.
