Drivers are far more likely to accept and conform to recommended limits if they understand the reasoning behind speed limits and how to identify and distinguish between the limits imposed on various road types and for different vehicles. Who is the Course ForThis course should be considered by anyone who has accumulated six or more penalty points on their driving licence through speeding offences. You may be an employer with a team of employees who are driving for work, and through the nature of their work are at risk of ‘totting up’ penalty points. You may be self employed, or simply someone who cannot afford to risk losing their driving licence. PresentationThe first part of the course invovles a presentation and interactive discussion that covers attitude, hazard recognition, knowledge perception and of course how to recognise speed limits. It explains that speed is accountable for around 25% of all road collisions by either driving with excess or inappropriate speed for the conditions. On–Road Driver TrainingThe second part of the course takes place behind the wheel, either in your own vehicle or we can provide one at additional cost. It includes an assessment drive to identify the drivers’ strengths and weaknesses. A *demonstration drive will then take place from your trainer together with commentary, talking through the advantages and benefits of adopting a new approach.
This session will also help identify the varying speed limits and key risk areas that the driver encounters on a daily basis. Practical, useful advice will be offered throughout the course. SummaryAt the end of the course, Bucks and Oxon Driver Training will go through a thorough debrief of the day discussing what will be included in the final typed report and ensuring personal and course objectives were met. The driver will be asked to complete an Evaluation Questionnaire in order for Bucks and Oxon Driver Training to monitor the effectiveness and quality of the course provided. ReportA comprehensive report will be provided for each delegate. For people attending court, this report can be fast tracked together with a certificate of attendance.
